Animal Friends Europe has come together to actively represent animal welfare at home and abroad.
We are already recognised as a non-profit organisation by the tax office and are therefore allowed to issue donation receipts.
We all work on a purely voluntary basis for the good cause and there is no office staff or other payments that go directly from the animal welfare account to the members' accounts.
All money goes 1:1 into animal welfare - we all stand for this together, because the money should help the dogs and cats in need and not flow into private pockets.
We drive many kilometres to pick up donations so that we can later send them to the partner animal shelters.
We do not take any money from the association's coffers for this either.
The same applies to journeys for pre- and post-inspections, which we also take on for other associations on request, if they are in our area.
The members of the partner animal shelters in the EU, e.g. in Spain and Romania, also work purely on a voluntary basis and only manage to raise the money for their abandoned animals and animals rescued from killing with great difficulty. All these helpers in the local animal shelters do their unpaid service before or after work so that the dogs are fed and the kennels and runs are cleaned. They take care of frightened dogs and treat the animals with much love.
Therefore, on the one hand we help with collections for donations and on the other hand we try to find places for the fosterlings, which often come from perreras (municipal animal shelters, where they are also killed if the number of dogs and cats in the shelters becomes too large).
Again and again you can find projects on our website, where we collect money for castrations, operations or other relief supplies.
Our members also go on holiday to Spain or Portugal once in a while to get to know the animal shelters and to actively support them.
We do all this at our own expense, without using any of the association's funds.
The cooperation between the foreign associations and us works very well and this is also the basic prerequisite for a good information policy when it comes to being able to assess dogs and cats well before they come to Germany.
Another big task is also looking after the foster homes and the dogs in the animal shelter in Emmendingen.
Some of our members also take in foster dogs themselves. Especially fearful dogs or those who simply haven't had a chance to be placed directly through our website for a long time.
We would be pleased if you would like to become active in animal welfare, because we always need many helping hands - also for background work, such as the internet, writing texts or perhaps you would like to spend an active holiday in one of our partner animal shelters, because there is always a need.
Please just ask us.
