Procedimiento de la adopción

A big part of our work is to find suitable places for our fosterlings through the website, because this is also a great help for our partner animal shelters.

You are welcome to email, call or Whatsapp us when you have decided on a particular animal.
We will be happy to answer all your questions about the animal and since we have direct contact with contact persons in the animal shelters, we will also try to find out if there is something you are specifically interested in.

After that we have some questions for you and will first send you a questionnaire and a privacy statement, which you may fill out and send back to us.

Now we will look for a person who lives near you and will stop by to do a preliminary visit. This person will simply check in a nice conversation if the circumstances are as you have described it to us.
If the animal is still in another EU country, we will now organize a transport possibility.
You will be informed in time about the arrival and the place of transport and you will be allowed to receive the animal there.

If the dog is with you for a while, we may also carry out follow-up checks after some time.
In between we are always happy to receive photos and reports of our former charges, these pictures will then end up with us under "Home found". Of course we are always available for advice and support, no matter how long the dog has been with you.

All animals are basically only mediated in the EU. We ask for your understanding for this.

Our dogs are examined by a vet before adoption, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and if they come from Spain or Portugal, tested for leishmaniasis, neutered if they are one year and older.
Normally, this information, whether a dog is neutered, is always with the individual dogs. You are also welcome to ask the appropriate mediators.

When taking over a dog from Spain there is a protection fee of 400 euros for an unneutered and 450 euros for a neutered dog.

This fee is divided as follows:
For an unneutered dog from Spain
85 EUR placement fee Animal Friends of Europe,
315 EUR protection fee, which goes directly to Spain. (Costs for chipping, vaccination, performed test for Mediterranean diseases and transport costs).

For a neutered dog from Spain
85 EUR placement fee Animal Friends of Europe
365 EUR protection fee, which goes directly to Spain. (Costs for chipping, vaccination, performed test for Mediterranean diseases and transport costs).

In the case of animals that have come from Spain to foster homes, the Animal Friends of Europe go in advance for the transport and these 115 euros are then to be paid after the placement to the Animal Friends of Europe (placement fee 200 euros).
The protection fee for the animal homes in Spain reduces then by 115 euro on 200 and/or 250 euro.
In exceptional cases with dogs from eight years and handicapped dogs only a protection fee of 250 euro is raised.

All dogs from one year are delivered neutered.

Cats:
Also kitties are mediated by us. Also here a questionnaire is addressed to the prospective customers and a Vorkontrolle is likewise accomplished in each case.
All cats are from 5 to 6 months chipped, vaccinated, neutered and tested for FIV and leukosis. We charge a protection fee of 250 Euro for a kitty. This also includes the transport fee.
For un-neutered cats we charge a protection fee of 200 Euro. This also includes the transport fee.

When taking over a dog from Portugal there is a protection fee of 440 Euro for an un-neutered dog and 490 Euro for a neutered dog.

This fee is divided as follows:
For an unneutered dog from Portugal
85 EUR placement fee Animal Friends of Europe,
355 EUR protection fee, which goes directly to Portugal. (Costs for chipping, vaccination, performed test for Mediterranean diseases and transport costs).

For a neutered dog from Portugal
85 EUR placement fee Animal Friends of Europe
405 EUR protection fee, which goes directly to Portugal. (Costs for chipping, vaccination, performed test for Mediterranean diseases and transport costs).
